We wish you all a very Happy New Year, the last year was a difficult one but there were many stories that made us happy, here is one such story of Tanvi Dhurandhar, student of Class IV at Brighton. The Story of Tanvi Creations Tanvi along with her Mom & Dad decided to bring forth her passion for art and craft into something more than the usual. She had this idea of decorating diyas with festive colours and making them an object or decoration. She hand painted 1400 diyas, everyone more beautiful then the other, family helped her package it in boxes of different sizes, Father helped the sales by asking friends and family to spread the word. Both the parents encouraged her and her little brother Divya to put up the stalls at various places in Raipur. The diyas were received well and Tanvi was able to make a neat profit on Diyas close to Rs 15,000. Her first effort resulting in monetary gains, but the bigger picture here is her unbridled desire to innovate and test herself, her family support and the conviction to go out there and try new things. This is what this year should be about, Resolve, Go out and Try. God will take care of the rest.Wish you all a very Happy New Year again. ... See MoreSee Less

From the Principal’s DeskDear Parents,We are aware that vaccine and the subsequent going back to the old normal might take time. We are keeping a close watch on government recommendations and shall update you as soon as we firm up any plans going forward. You will be glad to know that Brighton was arguably the first school in Raipur, which started with online classes as soon as the pandemic broke and we have been able to cover decent ground till date. Now we believe our children are used to the digital learning system, it’s about time we shift gears. This week, as you would have noticed we increased our study hours, the class timings across the board have been increased by 1-2 Hours. The extended time is being used to integrate Art in academics; we have made theses changes for the following reasons;• Schools have to function like this only for next 6 months too (as grim the situation seems); moving ahead is the only option• Though we have been following the integrated model, The NEP 2020 also recommends the approach • The classes are getting one-dimensional for students and we need to inject fun into them, these classes will help the children to relax and join the next class with all might.• Dancing, singing, theatre, art, craft, quiz, GK etc. are as essential as Math & English subjects and cannot be treated with indifference, Brighton’s SKED is a balanced mixture of varied elements helping students become an all-round individual; this is a small step from our end to keep the students in touch with the same.As an organization, we believe the sooner we adapt the NEW NORMAL the children can reap success out of it in a better manner. Our intention is never to enforce anything on you where as we would appreciate if you can lovingly accept it, we are surely going to accommodate your disapproval, if we still fail to convince you on the merit of our new plans. With your help we have carried forward academics in an excellent manner, I look forward once again for you cooperation and coordination for the change brought in the timetable with the inclusion of co curricular activities in it. Stay Healthy & Stay Safe.Regards,Jayshree NairPrincipal ... See MoreSee Less
