FAQ – Attendance

  1. What is the minimum attendance required for students?
    Students are expected to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance in an academic year, as per school and board regulations. Consistent attendance is crucial for better academic performance and participation.
  2. What should I do if my child is absent from school?
    Please inform the class teacher or school office on the same day and send a written note or email explaining the reason for the absence. For extended absences, a medical certificate may be required in case of illness.
  3. Can I take my child on vacation during school days?
    We strongly discourage vacations during school days as it disrupts learning. If unavoidable, prior written permission from the principal is required.
  4. What happens if my child misses a test or exam due to absence?
    If the absence is due to a valid reason such as illness, and supported with proper documentation, the school may consider alternative assessment methods.
  5. Will I be informed if my child is frequently absent?
    Yes. If a student has irregular attendance, parents will be contacted. Repeated absenteeism without valid reason may lead to follow-up meetings and affect academic performance.
  6. Are half-day leaves allowed?
    Half-day leaves are discouraged unless there is an emergency. If needed, a written request from the parent is required, and the student must be picked up by an authorized guardian.
  7. What if a parent needs someone else (relative, neighbor, etc.) to pick up the child in an emergency?
    The parent must:

    1. Send a written request to the class teacher through a whatsapp message from a number which is in school records.

    2. Provide the full name, relationship, and contact details of the person picking up the child.
      The designated person must present a valid government-issued photo ID for verification.

    3. What information must be included in a half-day leave or emergency pickup request?
      Parents must provide:
      • Student’s full name
      • Grade/Class
      • Reason for early dismissal
      • Date and time of pickup
      • Name and relationship of pickup person
      • Contact number of pickup person

    4. How does the school verify an authorized guardian?
      The school verifies identity through:

      1. The Authorized Pickup contact submitted by parents through whatsapp message.

      2. A valid government-issued photo ID, which must match with the request sent by the parent.

      3. If necessary, the school may contact the parent directly for confirmation.

  8. How is attendance tracked?
    Attendance is taken daily at the beginning of the school day and recorded in the school app. Parents can track attendance through the school app.
  9. Is attendance mandatory for school events and activities?
    Yes. Attendance is expected for all academic and co-curricular events, including school functions, sports day, and field trips, as they contribute to holistic development.
  10. What should I do if my child needs a long medical leave?
    In case of prolonged illness or injury, please inform the school in writing with a medical certificate. We will coordinate with you to support your child’s learning during the absence.
  11. Can my child be excused from school during exams for personal reasons?Examinations are mandatory. Requests for leave during exams must be submitted in advance and will be considered only under special circumstances with proper documentation.
