FAQ – Bus Conveyance

1. Service & Enrollment

Q: Is school transport available for all areas?

A: We offer transport services on designated routes based on demand and feasibility. Please check with the school office to confirm if your specific area is covered.

Q: What types of buses are available?

A: Brighton International School provides both AC and Non-AC bus options. You can choose the option that best suits your preference during the admission process.

Q: Is it mandatory to use school transport?

A: No, school transport is optional. Parents may choose to drop and pick up their children on their own. However, if you choose self-transport, you must strictly adhere to school timings and security protocols at the gate.

Q: Can siblings from different sections use the same bus route?

A: Yes, we try to accommodate siblings on the same route whenever possible. Please inform the transport coordinator of this requirement at the time of registration.

Q: Can I switch from personal transport to school conveyance mid-year?

A: Yes, this is possible subject to seat availability on the desired route. A formal request must be submitted to the transport department at least one week in advance.

2. Routes, Timings & Tracking

Q: How will I know my bus stop, pick-up, and drop-off timings?

A: A member of our Conveyance Department will call you personally before the session begins. They will let you know your drop-off and pick-up time along with the specific stop details.

Q: Can I track the school bus in real-time?

A: Yes, all our buses are GPS-enabled. Parents can track the real-time location and movement of the bus through the School Mobile App.

Q: What happens if the bus is delayed due to traffic or weather conditions?

A: While we strive for punctuality, unforeseen delays can occur. In such cases, parents are informed through WhatsApp messages to avoid worry or confusion.

Q: What if my child misses the bus in the morning?

A: If a student misses the bus, parents will need to make alternate arrangements to drop the child at school. The bus cannot wait for late arrivals due to strict time constraints.

Q: Can I change the bus route or stop for my child during the year?

A: Route changes are generally not allowed on personal requests. Changes are only considered for valid reasons and are subject to seat availability on the new route.

3. Safety & Security

Q: How is the safety and security of students ensured on school buses?

A: Student safety is our top priority. All buses are equipped with CCTV cameras, GPS tracking, first-aid kits, and fire extinguishers. Additionally, trained drivers and female attendants are present on each route, and regular safety checks are conducted.

Q: What safety training do drivers and attendants receive?

A: All drivers and attendants undergo regular training in safety protocols, first-aid, and child behavior management to ensure a safe and child-friendly transport experience.

Q: Are parents allowed to enter the school bus or interact with other students on board?

A: No, parents are not permitted to enter the school bus or interact directly with other students. This is to ensure the safety, privacy, and comfort of all children. Any concerns should be communicated directly to the school authorities.

4. Policies & Discipline

Q: What is the procedure if my child is absent and won’t be using the bus?

A: Please inform the school transport in-charge or the attendant via phone or message early in the morning. This helps us avoid unnecessary waiting and delays for other students.

Q: Are transport services available after school activities or remedial classes?

A: Generally, transport is provided only for standard school hours. If your child stays back for extra classes or activities, parents may need to pick them up unless prior arrangements have been made.

Q: Is there a provision for temporary one-day transport use?

A: School transport is primarily for regular users. Temporary or one-time use is generally not permitted but may be allowed under special circumstances, subject to prior written approval and availability.

Q: What are the disciplinary consequences for misbehavior on the bus?

A: We maintain strict discipline on our buses. Repeated misbehavior—such as bullying, shouting, abusing, communicating in any language other than English, or not following safety instructions—can lead to temporary or permanent suspension from school transport, depending on the severity.
