FAQ – Examination

    1. What types of exams are conducted in the school?
We conduct a mix of formative assessments (class tests, quizzes, projects) and summative assessments (Mid-Term and Annual Examination) to evaluate both continuous learning and academic achievement.
    2. How many exams are held in an academic year?
Typically, there are two main term exams along with periodic assessments throughout the year. The exact schedule is shared at the beginning of the academic session.
    3. What is the weightage of term exams and periodic assessments?
Term exams usually carry higher weightage, while periodic tests, classwork, projects, and oral assessments contribute to the overall grade as part of a continuous assessment model.
    4. How is exam preparation supported in school?
Teachers provide revision classes, and mock tests before exams. Key concepts are discussed in class to help students prepare confidently.
    5. What happens if a student misses an exam due to illness or emergency?
If a student is absent for a valid reason (supported by a medical certificate), the school may consider alternate assessment methods.
    6. Are students given exam timetables in advance?
Yes. Detailed timetables are shared well in advance through circulars, notices, or the school app so that students and parents can prepare accordingly.
    7. How are exam papers evaluated and shared with parents?
Exam papers are checked and discussed in class. Marks are recorded and are shared with parents after each term. Partners-in-progress meets (PIP Meets) are held to review progress and clarify any concerns.
    8. Are there any exams for co-curricular or non-academic subjects?
Yes. Subjects like Art, Physical Education, and Life Skills may have assessments based on participation, performance, and practical tasks rather than traditional written exams.
    9. What is the school’s policy on cheating or misconduct during exams?
We maintain strict exam ethics. Cheating or malpractice is taken seriously and may result in cancellation of the paper, disciplinary action, and a meeting with parents.
    10. How are final grades calculated?
Final grades are a combination of term exams, periodic assessments, classwork, projects, and attendance. The grading system follows board-specific guidelines.
    11. How can I support my child during the exam period? Encourage regular study habits, maintain a calm home environment, ensure proper sleep and nutrition, and avoid last-minute pressure. Positive encouragement goes a long way.
    12. Where can I find the examination schedule? The tentative dates for examinations are provided in the School Activity Calendar, which is issued to students at the beginning of the academic session. Students and parents are advised to refer to the calendar for detailed information. Any updates or changes, if applicable, will be communicated by the school in due course.
