FAQ – Parent -Teacher Communication

  1. What is the expected behaviour of parents during Parent-Teacher interaction?
    We encourage respectful, constructive conversations. Parents should listen actively, share their concerns calmly, and avoid confrontational language to maintain a positive dialogue focused on the child’s well-being.
  2. Can parents meet teachers outside of scheduled Partners in Progress Meets?
    Yes, but only by prior appointment. This ensures the teacher is available and not engaged in class or other duties. Kindly contact the school office to schedule a meeting.
  3. How should concerns or complaints be raised with the teacher or school?
    We request that all concerns be shared respectfully—either in person during meetings, in writing, or through official school communication channels. Harsh language or public confrontation is discouraged.
  4. Are parents allowed to directly contact teachers on personal phones or social media?
    To maintain professional boundaries and ensure privacy, all communication should go through official school channels like email, school app, or scheduled meetings. A phone call may be made within the allotted time incase of extreme emergencies.
  5. What if a parent disagrees with a teacher’s feedback?
    Disagreements should be discussed politely and privately. Parents are encouraged to express their perspective calmly and request clarification or a follow-up meeting if needed.
  6. Can a parent visit the classroom without notice?
    No. For security and minimal disruption, parents are not allowed to visit the classrooms during the school working hours.
  7. What role do parents play in maintaining school discipline and values?
    Parents are partners in reinforcing school values. Supporting the school’s code of conduct at home, modeling respectful communication, and guiding children positively plays a vital role in discipline.
  8. Can parents be part of school committees or feedback groups?
    Yes, we are open to feedback from the parents. Parents can share their feedback during Partners in Progress Meets, through whatsapp messages and phone calls.
  9. Is there a code of conduct for parent behavior in the school?
    Yes. We look forward to a basic code of conduct from parents outlining respectful communication, punctuality, cooperation, and ethical behavior. This helps maintain a healthy school environment.
  10. What if a parent feels their child is being treated unfairly?
    Concerns should be brought to the teacher’s attention calmly first. If not resolved, the matter can be escalated to the school coordinator or principal, following the school’s grievance policy.
